Following a very short hiatus, football resumes this week with international sides congregating once more. Ahead of the scheduled Euro qualifiers at the end of the week, see below for all the key information for the two upcoming England fixtures, including the latest team news.
Following a bitterly disappointing end to their World Cup campaign in Qatar, England’s road to redemption and a first major trophy in 58 years resumed once more back in March.
Their Euro qualifying campaign got off to the best possible start with two wins out of two. Harry Kane became England’s all-time record goalscorer in Naples as the Three Lions roared to an impressive 2-1 victory – their first away win in Italy for 62 years. They then returned to home soil with a domineering three points against Ukraine.
Gareth Southgate’s men head into match day three with a three point gap separating themselves and Italy. They will have identified their upcoming fixtures as absolute must-wins to continue on their road to qualification; they face 172nd ranked Malta on Friday before a meeting at Old Trafford with giant-killers North Macedonia.
Upcoming England Fixtures
- Malta vs England (Friday 16th June) – Ta’ Qali National Stadium | Kick-off 19:45 GMT
- England vs North Macedonia (Monday 19th June) – Old Trafford | Kick-off 19:45 GMT
Latest England Team News
The England squad have already arrived at St George’s park ahead of June’s Euro qualifiers, but several of Gareth Southgate’s original squad have been forced to withdraw.
Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, who has one cap for his national side having featured all the way back in November 2018, has agonisingly been forced to sit out the upcoming games as he is still nursing a foot problem.
Elsewhere, soon-to-be Real Madrid starlet Jude Bellingham has been struggling with a persist knee injury towards the tail end of the season, which saw him benched for Borussia Dortmund’s deflating final day defeat.
Eberichi Eze is the only player looking to secure his first ever senior cap, following an emphatic end to the season with Crystal Palace where he scored six goals in 10 games.

Europa Conference League winning captain Declan Rice joined up with the squad on Monday following days of celebration, while it is unclear when the Champions League winning members from Manchester City will end their treble festivities – this likely means they will not feature in Friday’s first game of the break.
How to Watch England Fixtures on TV
Both of England’s upcoming fixtures will be shown live, free-to-air after a deal was struck last year.
Channel 4 and their concurrent streaming service All 4 will broadcast both fixtures, with kick-off scheduled for 19:45 on Friday and the following Monday.
