MOONLIGHT SPIRIT (system – Charlotte Jones, Cartmel)
Charlotte Jones is 26 from 93 (28% strike-rate) when riding at Cartmel and backing her mounts blind at the Lake District venue would have seen us in profit to the tune of £26.96 to the usual £1 stake. MOONLIGHT SPIRIT, the first of her two rides today (the other is Bells Express in the 5.45), has a good overall strike-rate (five wins from 16 starts) and can make his first visit to Cartmel a winning one.

CIARA STORM (system – Martyn & Freddie Meade, first-time blinkers)
CIARA STORM finished last of the 11 runners at Wolverhampton in December on her most recent outing, but she needed that run for a mark and might do better now handicapping on turf in first-time blinkers. She was third in a Nottingham maiden on her penultimate start and the Meade yard is seven from 29 when using this headgear for a profit of £21.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. On breeding, the son of Nathaniel is better equipped than his three rivals to cope with the forecast good to firm going and looks worth a punt at odds of around 7-1.
REDCAR 4.36
DUKEMAN (system – Crisford yard, handicap debutants)
DUKEMAN, gelded since finishing second in a novice contest at Epsom on his final 2022 outing, looks very interesting now handicapping. His stable is 63 from 245 with handicap debutants (25.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £19.05 to a £1 level strake at SP. At Redcar only the score is three from three for a profit of £14.18.
