Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Eduardo Camavinga will be fit for Wednesday’s Champions League second leg clash with Manchester City after the Frenchman picked up a knock against Getafe on Saturday.

Ancelotti opted to select a much-changed Madrid side with the second leg of course in mind. Despite emerging as the team’s starting left-back in recent weeks, Camavinga returned to his natural midfield role in the 1-0 win.

However, he was forced off the field with five minutes to go after picking up a knee injury but Ancelotti is confident he’ll be fine for Wednesday’s game.

“It’s just a blow, And he will recover fast. Everyone should be ready to face Manchester City. Camavinga has a knock, but he should be fine. Yes, he had a small twist in his knee, but it’s a blow, nothing more,” Ancelotti said.

“(On Sunday) he will rest, like the rest of those who have played,” he added.

A host of Madrid players were rested on Saturday, and Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygro all missed out on the starting XI. Eden Hazard was handed a rare start in his first appearance in almost a month.

Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the game in the win over Getafe.
