Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims he told the Red Devils to sign Erling Haaland for just £4 million in 2018, but they didn’t listen.
Haaland played under Solskjaer at Molde five years ago, before going on to join Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund and now of course Manchester City.
The City star has scored 51 goals in all competitions this season and Solskjaer has revealed he urged United to snap up the Norwegian striker before he took charge at Old Trafford back in 2018.

Solskjaer Quotes
The former United boss was speaking at “An Evening with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer” event in Manchester.
“I got in contact with United because we had this talented striker who they should have had,
“But they didn’t listen, unfortunately. Four million, I asked for. But they never signed him. Four million! Don’t ask (where he is now). He’s too good…”
Haaland broke a long-standing Premier League goalscoring record earlier this month as he netted his 35th goal in a 3-0 win over West Ham United.

That goal against the Hammers moved him clear of joint-record holders Alan Shearer and Andy Cole into first place on his own with four games still left to play in the Premier League.
City face Everton away next as they look to cement their place at the top of the table, as they seek an astonishing treble.
