According to UK Betting Sites, Chelsea are 5/2 favourites to sign want-away Bayern Munich star, Sadio Mane, after a tricky spell in Germany.
The Senegalese forward moved to Munich at the start of the season, following a successful six-year spell at Liverpool. Mane made 269 appearances for the Reds, scoring 120 goals and winning a Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
However, his move to Germany has not gone according to plan and the 31-year-old looks set to leave this summer, after just one season in the Bundesliga.
Mane has made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 and assisting five goals. Yet, in his last ten matches, the Senegal international has only found the target once.
The main controversy that has brought Mane’s time in Germany to an end occurred during the club’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final. Mane reportedly struck his teammate, Leroy Sane, and was suspended.

This has been the catalyst to his torrid time in the Bundesliga, leading to rumours over a possible exit in the summer. With Premier League big-spenders, Chelsea, being favourites to land the Senegalese’s signature in the coming transfer window.
The Blues currently sit 11th in the table, after Graham Potter failed to live up to expectations and Frank Lampard, Potter’s temporary replacement, has won once during his opening six matches in charge.
No UCL football may be a stumbling block when negotiating a deal, however, after spending half a billion pounds over the last two windows, the Blues will be confident in their approach.
Newcastle are right behind Chelsea in terms of odds and may become more likely should they qualify for Europe this season.
