Four Premier League sides are being linked with a sensational move for former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder James Rodriguez, after the Colombian was released by Olympiacos.

According to reports, several Premier League sides are making inquiries into the availability of ex-Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was released by Olympiacos last month, and is currently training as a free agent out in Madrid.

It is understood that Rodriguez is keen on remaining in Europe – however Brazilian side Botafoga are also monitoring his situation.

Of course, the Colombian has previous Premier League experience, making 23 English top flight appearances in his short stint with Merseyside club Everton.

And now, according to trusted South American transfer expert Christian Martin – the 31-year-old could make a sensational return to England.

James Rodriguez – Premier League Return?

Revealed via Spanish publication AS, Martin confirmed English, as well as Scottish interest in Rodriguez.

“We understand that he (James) prioritises staying in European football. Could it be England? We understand that yes, there is a possibility that clubs like Crystal Palace, Bournemouth or even Brighton, which does not usually make this type of addition, at least find out the conditions in which the Colombian could arrive.” he said.

“The English clubs have the money, the big ones in Scotland too. No one would shy away from at least assessing the possibility of repatriating James to the UK. From our sources, the inquiries have been, through intermediaries, by Crystal Palace, by Bournemouth, by Everton.”

Rodriguez’ time in Greece came to an early end last month, after the former Puskas Award winner made just 24 appearances for Olympiacos in all competitions.

In that time, he scored on five occasions, and provided six assists.
