Barcelona star Raphinha has opened up on the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours that claimed he wanted to leave Barca, and it’s fair to say the Brazilian isn’t happy with the speculation.
The former Leeds United man has been heavily linked with a move to Tyneside recently with Spanish media claiming he’d “given the OK” for Barca to let him leave.
One Spanish Instagram account called Fanatico Sport Futebol with over one million followers shared the speculation, prompting a stern response from the Brazilian. He commented below the post: “Lies. The person who said this is a liar and uninformed.”
“Okay, (they) deleted my comment because of a lie once again.
“This is a lie and whoever said it is an uninformed liar and not professional. If my comment is deleted, I will post it on my Instagram.”
Raphinha has replied to the news of him giving the green light to leave Barcelona in the summer ⤵️

Despite the Spanish giants on the brink of a 27th La Liga title, they’re expected to sell a wealth of talent once again this summer. The club is facing another financial crisis, and La Liga have ordered the club to trim their expenditure by over €200m.
This can be done by selling players and reducing wages, so could see a player such as Raphinha leave the club.
Newcastle have all but confirmed their top four finish in the Premier League this season, with Champions League football on its way back to St James’ Park.
Some of Europe’s best players will be tracked by Newcastle this summer, with the ambition the club now has.
