Backing all progeny of sire Fast Company who were racing on officially good to soft or softer going on the Flat would have provided us with 126 winners from 986 bets (12.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £111.44 to a £1 level stake at SP. There are two in this race – Downsman and SPELNDENT, with preference for the Paul & Oliver Cole representative. The four-year-old met trouble in a big field at Haydock on last month’s return to action and will appreciate today’s smaller field. He finished runner-up on unsuitably fast going last summer on his sole previous course outing.
WINDSOR 8.25
ASTRONOMICA (system – Belardo, 3yo+, 1m+ on the Flat)
Progeny of the sire Belardo tend to improve with age/distance and backing all those aged three or older who were running over 1m+ on the Flat would have found 70 winners from 434 bets (prior to Sunday’s racing) for a profit of £92.05 to a £1 level stake at SP. ASTRONOMICA hinted at ability last season and could be worth chancing at a big price on her three-year-old debut.
