Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Lionel Messi at PSG this summer, according to reports.

According to reports, Crystal Palace forward has been identified as a target by Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

L’Equipe claim that Olise is one of four names listed as a potential suitor to replace Lionel Messi in the summer ahead of his impending departure.

The report claims Manchester City‘s Bernardo Silva, Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby and Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki are the other names on the list of potential candidates.

Messi’s exit will free up plenty of funds for PSG, but will leave a major hole in their attack.

Brazilian forward Neymar may also be forced out in the summer – leaving a drastic need for new attacking talent to arrive at the club in the summer.

The club has long-held an interest in City’s Silva, and even tried signing him last summer but to no avail.

However, Man City will now reportedly no longer stand in the Portuguese international’s way if he wishes to leave the club, but it will require a hefty £75m fee.

With Olise being seven years younger than Silva, and likely cheaper to sign, the Eagles forward may be the preferred option for PSG.

Olise has impressed since his arrival at Selhurst Park from Reading back in 2021.

Throughout the 2022/23 campaign, he has made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting nine times.

Despite hailing from London, he is a French U21 international and has committed his future to the French national team.

Likely to be his most memorable moment of the season, and perhaps from his time at Palace in general, came earlier in the season where he rattled a free-kick in off the underside of the crossbar against Manchester United to secure a point in the dying minutes of the tie.
