Everton were condemned to another gameweek in the drop zone after being held at the King Power Stadium, while Leicester’s Premier League relegation odds were handed another significant boost as they made it three games unbeaten.

Dean Smith’s arrival in the East Midland’s signalled a noticeable push for top-flight survival from Leicester, who have managed to peel themselves from the foot of the table.

Despite falling behind early on after a calamitous double-collision on Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the box, the Foxes found an immediate response through Cagar Soyuncu, who swept home an opportunistic loose ball on the volley.

Jamie Vardy also found the net for the second successive fixture to well and truly end his baron run, and in typical fashion after bursting through the Toffees back line to round the keeper and fire home his side’s second.

The Toffees, who now find themselves without a victory in six games and in genuine danger of dropping to the Championship, did manage to claw their way back into the contest after Alex Iwobi found an equaliser just after half-time.

Despite both sides enjoying a flurry of chances, the survival race took yet another turn as the points were shared. Neither side will be ecstatic with the end result, but Leicester are likely to be the happier of the two having crept up the table.

Everton meanwhile, have seen their relegation odds fall all the way down to 8/13. Sean Dyche’s side, who registered 23 shots throughout the contest, were the cause of their own downfall once more as individual mistakes cost them early on. Although not for a lack of trying in front of goal, they have now conceded nine goals in their previous four fixtures.
