Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has likened record signing Alexander Isak to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry after his incredible assist against Everton on Thursday night, and is confident there is more to come from the Swede.

The Magpies’ star striker has been in inspiring form since returning from his four-month spell on the sidelines, and he now has 10 goals for the season.

However it was his breathtaking assist that has him being compared to Henry.

The former Real Sociedad man picked up the ball on the halfway line and dribbled his way past three defenders on a stunning run before putting the ball on a plate for Jacob Murphy to tap home.

After the game many compared Isak to Henry, and Howe was asked about the comparisons.

“Yes, I can, I can see the comparisons there.

“Everyone is different, there are no two players that are the same, but I don think he has some of the characteristics Thierry had.

“He’s certainly got the speed and a similar build and frame. The footwork for the assist was truly remarkable, really, and I think he’s got a lot of potential to improve and get better.

“But it’s been a great start for him here.”

On his debut against Liverpool back in August, Isak scored a fantastic goal showing the Premier League exactly what he’s all about.
