Harry Kane is expected to cost a transfer fee of £100m and a contract worth £300k-a-week in wages to move from Tottenham to Manchester United.

Sami Mokbel from the Daily Mail has reported that United’s interest in the player is still strong but they’re unwilling to be dragged into exhausting negotiations.

On a three-year deal, any potential contract for Kane is likely to be worth upwards of £50m after bonuses – he currently earns £200k-a-week in north London.

If a transfer doesn’t work out for the 29-year-old, Erik ten Hag’s side have a few names on standby including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

Ten Hag is thought to want Kane as his starting striker next season, likely partnered with Marcus Rashford on the left and Antony on the right-hand side.

According to Premier League betting sites, Kane’s direction after the summer window appears to be an almost 50-50 split.

With an implied probability of 42% to remain at Spurs and 40% to join Manchester United, it’s anyone’s guess where England’s record goalscorer ends up.

With 24 goals in the league campaign so far, Kane trails only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland in the Golden Boot race – who is nine ahead and has two games in hand.

In February, Kane surpassed Jimmy Greaves as Spurs’ record goalscorer but is yet to win a major trophy with his boyhood side and is likely to begin thinking about his legacy.

In a move many would compare to Robin van Persie leaving Arsenal to join and win the Premier League with Manchester United, Kane deserves a real shot at glory.
