Epsom-based trainer Simon Dow loves a winner at his local track and sprinter PABLO DEL PUEBLO could well surprise off a featherweight in the opening 5f Class 3 handicap. He’s been running well this year over the minimum trip, scoring on the all-weather at Kempton and Lingfield, but is equally capable on grass and could outrun his odds on his first start on turf this season. He showed plenty of pace on his two previous visits to his local venue, in 6f handicaps, pulling clear of his rivals in the early stages before weakening late to finish fifth, beaten by just over two lengths, on each occasion. The step back to 5f will suit and this free-running sort could be difficult to peg back on the downhill track. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back each-way in the fixed odds betting.

YARMOUTH 5.35
MR FAYEZ could be worth chancing, despite his 21-race maiden status, after an eyecatching effort on his latest start in a 6f handicap on the all-weather at Lingfield. He fared second best of those coming from off the pace to finish a two-length fourth to Autumn Flight that day and had to endure a wide trip. That run, his first for 122 days, was probably needed and Dylan Cunha’s five-year-old ran well off a 10lb lower mark in a course and distance handicap last season. Top South African jockey Greg Cheyne is a positive booking and he can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
