Jose Mourinho to PSG rumours have began to surface this week, as the Parisians assess their options once more following a disappointing European campaign.

Similar to the renaissance we witnessed from Carlo Ancelotti, when the Italian swapped Merseyside for Madrid and went on to win the Champions League last year, we may yet see the return of Jose Mourinho at the very top.

Indeed, Ancelotti’s future in the Spanish capital remains up in the air after constant links to the Brazilian national team vacancy, but a second stint at Los Blanos appears unlikely for Mourinho at this moment in time.

Nevertheless, fresh reports suggest the enigmatic self-professed ‘special one’ is right at the top of PSG’s managerial shortlist, with the club’s hierarchy keen on ushering in the next instalment of their managerial merry-go-round.

Current manager Christophe Galtier has his fair share of critics despite sitting pretty atop Ligue 1 with an eight-point cushion – as recent history shows, winning the league simply isn’t enough.

French publication RMC report that Mourinho, who looks increasingly likely to steer Roma to a top-three finish for the first time in five years, is a top target for PSG this summer with director Luis Campos a long-term admirer.

A hugely underwhelming Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich, who ran out comfortable 3-0 victors across the two legs of their knockout stage tie, has once again called into question the lack of cohesiveness among the multi-million pound star-studded squad.

Rumours of summer exits for both Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe refuse to die down as the club desperately try to tie down their most prized assets. Jose Mourinho to PSG may prove to be an essential piece of business come the end of the season, in order to restore the discipline needed to compete in Europe’s elite competition.
