Manchester City winger Phil Foden has returned to training ahead of Wednesday evening’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

It comes at a perfect time for Pep Guardiola, as he now has a full squad to choose from ahead of a potential title decider against Arsenal next week.

Foden has been outstanding this season, one of City’s standout players, but has been on the sidelines for the last month.

His last appearance for City came against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley in the FA Cup back in March, having no further involvement due to having surgery for a bout of appendicitis.

He also made an appearance for England in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy, but then missed the match against Ukraine and the Citizens’ next four fixtures.

But now, with his return, he could be in line to play a part in City’s second-leg Champions League clash against Bayern.

The Citizens hold a 3-0 lead over the Bavarians from the first-leg at the Etihad.

Goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland secured a comfortable victory for Guardiola’s side over the Bundesliga table-toppers.

Bayern were without top scorer Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting however, who is expected to be fit for the second-leg after returning to training this week.

A comeback looks unlikely for Thomas Tuchel’s side though, with City’s incredible form making it almost impossible to come back from a three goal deficit.

Guardiola will give a full update on his latest team and injury news in his press conference ahead of the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
