Paul Scholes Says Alejandro Garnacho Is ‘The Way’ Cristiano Ronaldo Was As A Youngster

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has likened Red Devils youngster Alejandro Garnacho to Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that the Argentine is “the way Cristiano was as a young player”.

Paul Scholes has heaped high praise on Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho by comparing him to Cristiano Ronaldo.

This comes following a memorable year for the forward, who has scored several important goals under Erik ten Hag.

Featuring in 31 matches in all competitions this term, Garnacho has provided five goals for the Red Devils.

Memorably, he grabbed the winning goals against Real Sociedad and Fulham, as well as netting an important goal in United’s 2-0 win over rivals Leeds United.

His incredible season has seen him rewarded with a reported brand new five-year deal with the club.

He was also called up to the senior Argentina national team in March, alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Alexis Mac Allister, Angel Di Maria and many more.

Unfortunately however, the youngster was forced to withdraw due to an ankle injury.

But now, after being called “very talented” by Robin van Persie, a club legend has likened him to five time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Scholes On Garnacho – Ronaldo Similarities

“I’m really excited about him.” Scholes said.

“Whenever I see him I’m impressed. I think he’s a superstar in the making. He’s so brave in possession. He’s very much the way Cristiano [Ronaldo] was as a young player.

“He doesn’t mind being kicked, he gets up, he goes for more he scores goals. He’s got a lot of growing to do and once he gets a manly body and physical strength, I don’t think there’s much stopping him.”
