Allegorie De Vassy Mares’ Chase Odds

The penultimate race on Day 4 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway at 4.50pm in the form of the Mares’ Chase, two races after the Gold Cup. One of the standout horses in that race is the Willie Mullins-trained Allegorie De Vassy, who is unbeaten over fences. The Irish racing trainer will be hopeful of one of his star mares claiming victory here for the first time at the Cheltenham Festival.

The 6-year-old gelding currently sits at odds of around 2/1 with the best horse racing betting sites. Allegorie De Vassy has won her last four starts in a row, with two of them coming over fences in chase races. She won her chase debut at Limerick back in December, before following that up again over fences in January at Thurles.

If she can replicate that kind of form here at Cheltenham on Friday, she will be extremely difficult to stop in the Mares’ Chase.

The French mare aims to win her first Cheltenham Festival race on debut at the famous racecourse. She has won by 19 lengths on both of her chase races, so she is clearly a talented mare over fences. It comes as no surprise to see her amongst the betting favourites here.

She looks like she is a really strong horse and definitely has what it takes to win here. Jockey Paul Townend will be hoping for a win here aboard Allegorie De Vassy in the Mares’ Chase.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Allegorie De Vassy’s odds could well shorten as the Mares’ Chase approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market and how soft the ground is, Allegorie De Vassy could even go off as the outright favourite ahead of Impervious.

The Henry De Bromhead-trained Magic Daze and Ciaran Murphy-trained Impervious look to be Allegorie De Vassy’s biggest threats here. He will have to run his best race if he is to claim victory here for the first time around the Cheltenham track.

Mullins’ 6-year-old is certainly one of the most promising horses in the race, of that there is no doubt.
