Blazing Khal – Stayers’ Hurdle
The Stayers Hurdle is set to be a thrilling race once again this year. Blazing Khal is a 3/1 favourite to win the race – however is challenged by some top horses.
Blazing Khal, who is trained by Charles Byrnes has had his preparation slightly hampered after sustaining “a few bits of nicks” after his last start, but still heads the betting ahead of the race.
That last start, which the 7-year-old won at Navan was it’s first ride in 428 days. He had been injured for 14 months prior to that 5/1 win in Ireland, but seems to be back better than ever.
He did win back-to-back Grade 2 novice prizes at Cheltenham in the Autumn of 2021, including one win on the old track, and one on the new. However, did end up picking up an injury therefore missing the rest of the season.
But, after that impressive comeback at Navan in February, he’s got every chance.
