Cheltenham Festival Weather Forecast: Day-By-Day Look At The Festival Weather Prospects For The Week Ahead
After snow hit the Prestbury Park track last week, the good news is the ‘white stuff’ is now long gone and there are no reported issues ahead of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
The further positive news regarding the 2023 Cheltenham Festival weather is the first part of the week is expected to be mainly dry. Yes, some rain is on the cards for first thing Monday, but from late morning things improve during the bulk of the day. Tuesday evening could see some heavier rain though from 8pm-ish.
As we head into later in the week, there is some more possible rain from Wednesday night onwards, but day one (Tuesday) should be a dry one.
Temperatures are not too made either, which is a plus for racegoers who are thinking of what to wear. Wednesday could be the coldest of the four days, but sandwiched inbetween Ladies’ Day there are highs up to 13-14C.

Cheltenham Festival Weather (Monday: March 13th – The Day Before the Roar)
The start of the week is expected to be mainly dry. Yes, the day does start with some rain, but is set to clear up late morning. There will be sunny intervals for much of the morning ang into lunchtime. However, as the afternoon progresses, there could be light rain from 3pm to 7pm and possible heavier rain from 8pm to 10pm.

Cheltenham Festival Weather (Tuesday: March 14th – Day One, Champion Day)
Day one of the Festival and better news as Tuesday is meant to be a dry one. We should have sunny spells during the morning and up to noon – but will become hit with more cloudier weather from 2pmish. Highs of 8C, so a bit colder than Monday, while into the evening the temperatures could go down to 0C into Wednesday night.

Cheltenham Festival Weather (Wednesday: March 15th – Day Two, Ladies’ Day)
Into Wednesday and the temperatures up from freezing in the early hours to 4-5C in the morning and by 9am. A dry day is on the cards though with sunny patches between 8am to 1pm, unti 3pm. Chance of some Light rain into the afternoon and overnight – but overall things look okay on day two.

Cheltenham Festival Weather (Thursday: March 16th – Day Three, St Patrick Thursday)
Day three and things could take a turn for the worse here. Some heavy rain is expected overnight (3am) and this could easily continue (on and off) right through the morning and afternoon. Better news into late afternoon, when things are expected to clear into the evening. On a plus the temperature is fine at highs of 12C.

Cheltenham Festival Weather (Friday: March 17th – Day Four, Gold Cup Day)
Into Gold Cup day and it should be too bad – if the 5-day Cheltenham Festival weather forecast holds out. A dry morning is on the cards and during the afternoon despite some chance of light rain, there should be sunny periods too. Mild temperatures too with highs of 14C.
