THE GUNNER YEATS (system – Willie Mullins, no headgear, wore first-time hood on previous start)
Willie Mullins, by his own high standards, has a modest strike-rate when fitting one of his runners with a first-time hood. Those same horses often run well at the next time of asking if the headgear is removed, landing ten of their 29 starts for a profit of £25.74 to a £1 level stake at SP. THE GUNNER YEATS could only finish an 18-length third of 13 when wearing the headgear on his Rules debut in a Navan bumper last month and might do better today.
TAUNTON 5.05
PRIVATORY (system – Gary Moore, first-time blinkers)
Gary Moore does well with his runners in first-time blinkers, scoring with 20 of the 116 qualifiers since the beginning of 2013 (expected winners = 12.56) for a profit of £62.11 to a £1 level stake at SP. PRIVATORY has failed to score since landing a Sandown novice hurdle on his yard debut but could bounce back to form in the new headgear.

DIVINE RAPTURE (system – James Tate debut winners, second-time out)
James Tate debut winners often follow up, with 15 of the 41 qualifiers proving successful at the second time of asking (36.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £23.13 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners only 9.86). DIVINE RAPTURE was well-backed to make a winning debut and has solid claims of a repeat on her second start.
