Manchester United have seen their Premier League title odds drift to 150/1 following their disappointing 0-0 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Manchester United’s already-dwindled Premier League title hopes took a further blow this afternoon.

The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw by bottom-of-the-table Southampton.

They came into this tie off the back of an impressive 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the first-leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

Prior to the Betis victory, Erik ten Hag’s side were battered 7-0 at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

Marcus Rashford was on the scoresheet once again in midweek, and looked certain to open the scoring against the Saints this afternoon. The Englishman was played in one-on-one, but was denied excellently by Gavin Bazunu in the opposition goal.

A major blow arrived for United in the 33rd minute however. Midfield general Casemiro was shown his marching orders for a foul on Charly Alcaraz, reducing the Red Devils down to 10-men.

The Brazilian will now have to serve a four-match suspension, having already been red carded this season.

James Ward-Prowse went close top opening the scoring for the visitors early in the second-half. The 28-year-old almost equalled David Beckham’s record as he clipped the crossbar with a free-kick.

Bazunu was called into action once again late on in the second-half, getting down well to deny Bruno Fernandes an opener.

Kyle Walker-Peters almost won it for the Saints just minutes later. The full-back rattled the hosts’ crossbar from a tight-angle.

A win wasn’t to be for either side in the end, as United defended well to secure a point with 10-men.

This result sees the Red Devils sit 16 points behind league-leaders Arsenal.
