Kevin Blake Cheltenham Tip: 16.10 Mares Hurdle (Tuesday) – BRANDY LOVE @ 6/1 with BetUK

Blake’s first best bet comes on the opening day of the Festival in the form of Brandy Love in the Mares Hurdle. The ITV Racing pundit believes this horse could be one of the best mares in training, and will finally get a chance to show it on Tuesday.

Brandy Love has shown remarkable talent in her last three racing starts, despite hating going right-handed on each occasions. The Cheltenham course and distance promises to be ideal for her as well as running left handed. Blake believes she can produce a big effort in the Mares’ Hurdle.

Kevin Blake Cheltenham Tip: 13.30 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle (Wednesday) – GAELIC WARRIOR @ 5/1 with BetUK

Blake’s second tip of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival is that the Willie Mullins trained Gaelic Warrior could triumph in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle on Wednesday. He raced here last year in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle where he came second due to a tendency to jump right coupled with inexperience.

He has won two moderate contests since in devastating fashion, making a mockery of a mark of 143 at the Dublin Racing Festival. The step up in trip also promises to suit him well meaning Gaelic Warrior is the form horse in the race and thus Kevin Blake’s second best bet of the Festival.

Kevin Blake Cheltenham Tip: 16.10 Cross Country Chase (Wednesday) – GALVIN @ 2/1 with BetUK

Blake’s third best bet of this year’s Cheltenham Festival is Galvin in the Genfarclas Cross Country Chase. Galvin finished fourth last year in the Gold Cup and even ran up to a mark of 166 when winning a Grade 3 at Punchestown last October.

He has reportedly already been over to Cheltenham to school over this course as well as having schooled at other cross-country venues closer to home. Blake really fancies Galvin for this one, particularly if the ground is on the sounder side.

Kevin Blake Cheltenham Tip: 16.50 Grand Annual Chase (Wednesday) – ROUGE VIF @ 14/1 with BetUK

At a generous price of 14/1, Kevin Blake’s fourth Festival fancy is the Harry Whittington-trained Rouge Vif in the Grand Annual Chase on Wednesday. Back in 2020, the 9-year-old was a high-class performer for Whittington, winning a Grade 2 chase and a handicap off a mark of 156.

The handicappers have been generous here, dropping him down to a mark of 137 from a career-high of 164. He certainly makes plenty of appeal and Blake feels he has a really good chance at a big price here.

Kevin Blake Cheltenham Tip: 14.10 Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle (Thursday) – SHOOTS FIRST @ 9/2 with BetUK

Blake’s final Cheltenham best bet comes in the form of Shoots First in the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle on Thursday. He is currently the betting favourite in the race, and it is clear to see why.

He is unexposed with just seven runs over hurdles to his name, two of which came over three miles. However, he stamped himself as a leading contender for this race by bolting up in a qualifier at Cheltenham in October. He ran out the easy two-length winner on that occasions over rivals that have boosted form since.

Shoots First promises to be even more effective when ridden with more patience, and the New course might suit him even better than the Old Course did five months ago. Blake believes he could go off even shorter and feels the 7-year-old has a tremendous chance here in the Pertemps.
