Latest Arkle Challenge Trophy Odds – El Fabiolo & Jonbon Head Betting Market

The Cheltenham odds for the second race of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival indicate that both Jonbon and El Fabiolo will both go off as the joint favourites to win the Arkle Challenge Trophy.

Both impressive geldings currently head the market at odds of around 13/8 with the best horse racing betting sites. Jonbon has won his last four straight runs, whilst El Fabiolo has won his last three. This is sure to be another thrilling battle between the pair!

The two French racehorses have both never won at Cheltenham before, but have faced each other once in last year’s Grand National Festival at Aintree.

The two joint favourites, Jonbon and El Fabiolo, faced each other at Aintree last year in the Betway Top Novices’ Hurdle. On that day, Jonbon won by a neck in an incredibly tight race. Horse racing fans are excited to again see that duel this year at Cheltenham in the Arkle.

They certainly look like the strongest horses in the race and are virtually impossible to split here in the Arkle Challenge Trophy.

Trainer Willie Mullins has real faith in his 6-year-old and believes El Fabiolo has improved drastically since his duel last year with Jonbon. On the other hand, Nicky Henderson is confident that his 7-year-old will once again prove to be too strong for Mullins’ hopefuls in this race.

This virtually seems like a two horse race between Jonbon and El Fabiolo. Both horses are priced at odds of around 13/8 with the best Cheltenham betting sites.

Two other Mullins’ horses in Dysart Dynamo and Saint Roi could however pose a threat to the two overriding favourites. However, if either Jonbon or El Fabiolo are on top form here, they will be hard to stop in the second race on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival.

Both Henderson and Mullins will be hopeful of winning this race, and it looks like it will be between the two legendary trainers. If you want to know a bit more about both trainers, you can check out Willie Mullins vs Nicky Henderson head-to-head racing stats and net worth by clicking the link.
