Alex Hammond Cheltenham Tip: 1.30pm Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – FACILE VEGA @ 5/2 with BetUK
Hammond’s first selection on Day 1 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival comes in the shape of Facile Vega in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. The Sports Sports Racing expert hopes the 6-year-old can bounce back from a disappointing run at the Dublin Racing Festival.
Despite trainer Barry Connell firming tipping Marine Nationale on the Sky Sports Racing show last week when claiming he is practically unbeatable, Hammond is sticking with her selection of Facile Vega
Alex Hammond Cheltenham Tip: 2.10pm Arkle Novices’ Chase – EL FABIOLO @ 13/8 with BetUK
Alex Hammond’s next tip on Day 1 comes in the Arkle Novices’ Chase where she is siding with El Fabiolo. Hammond interviewed Patrick Mullins recently, and his eyes lit up at the mention of this horse.
Despite being the joint favourite with Jonbon, Hammond wasn’t convinced by his Warwick performance recently and is thus selecting the Willie Mullins trained El Fabiolo to win the Arkle.
Alex Hammond Cheltenham Tip: 2.50pm Ultima Handicap Chase – CORACH RAMBLER @ 7/1 with BetUK
The Sky Sports Racing pundit’s next selection comes in the form of Corach Rambler in the Ultima Handicap Chase. Trainer Lucinda Russell is very hopeful about the chances of her 9-year-old who Hammond believes has all the ingredients to win this again.
Despite being six-pounds higher in the handicaps here, Hammond is using previous festival form here and thinks Corach Rambler can win this again after a decent fourth place finish in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbery last time out.

One of the trickiest races to call on Day 1 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival is the Mares’ Hurdle. Alex Hammond has sided with the Willie Mullins-trained Brandy Love who looks a progressive mare for Willie Mullins.
The heavy snow and rain shouldn’t hamper Brandy Love too much, and Alex Hammond believes she has every chance here despite horse like Honeysuckle, Epatante, Marie’s Rock, Love Envoi and Shewearsitwell all featuring.
Alex Hammond Cheltenham Tip: 4.50pm Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle – PERSEUS WAY @ 12/1 with BetUK
Hammond’s final tip on Tuesday afternoon comes in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle where she has selected Perseus Way as her best bet.
Hammond thinks it could be worth taking a chance on Perseus Way, who was a runner-up to a smart juvenile Nusret at Kempton in the Adonis last time out. The Sky SPorts Racing expect believes he can go one better here and claim victory in the penultimate race on Day 1 at Cheltenham.
