Oliver Sherwood’s Irish point winner SCAMALLACH LIATH caught the eye on his debut under Rules when third over an extended 2m4f in a novice hurdle at Plumpton in November. Outpaced as the leaders kicked for home, he made stealthy headway from two out and was doing all his best work at the finish to get within five lengths of the winner. He ran to a similar level on his next start in December, staying on well to finish a close up third to Grozni in a Leicester novice hurdle, again over the extended 2m4f distance, and looks to be crying out for a step up in trip. This stiffer stamina test will suit and he looks solid each-way material. Buy in the 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price with Spreadex.

KEMPTON 7.00
Henry Spiller has a solid record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards and HIGH COURT JUDGE did very well to come from off the pace and force a dead heat for first place with George Boughey’s Manuha when making his stable debut at Chelmsford on January 14th, as he was forced wide when making his effort. He looks sure to improve for that experience and Spiller’s winning ‘switchers’ are three from seven (+£6.00) when bidding to follow up. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
