There’s nothing quite like signing a player on a free transfer at the end of the season, upon contract expiry, so we’re taking a look at Premier League players out of contract in June.

And, it’s fair to say that in that list there’s a number of high-profile players that could decide to depart their current clubs.

If a players club does not opt to extend their stay for at least another year, or the player isn’t willing to sign a new contract then they are free to discuss options with other clubs in a bid to secure a move away.

There has been some sensational free transfers that have happened over the years in the Premier League, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic who signed for Manchester United back in 2016. In his first season, the Swedish striker scored 28 goals in 46 appearances under Jose Mourinho.

Another was Demba Ba, who signed for Newcastle United on a free transfer after his former side West Ham were relegated. The Senegalese forward scored 29 goals in 58 appearances for the Magpies over 18 months.

One player who’s already announced he won’t be staying at his side is Firmino, who’ll be leaving Liverpool after 8 years.

Another who looks like he’ll be moving on is Tielemans – who hasn’t signed a contract extension at the King Power, and his teammate Soyuncu also will likely be on the move. The latter looks as if a move to Atletico Madrid is on the cards, meanwhile plenty of clubs are interested in the signature of Tielemans.
