Manchester United legend Gary Neville ripped into captain Bruno Fernandes after his side were hammered 7-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, in one of the Premier League‘s craziest games.

Fernandes was seen to be moaning at his teammates and the referee in most of the second half. It seemed like he got more agitated as each goal went in, which wasn’t a good look for the captain of the club.

The Portuguese midfielder has been slated on Twitter following his on-pitch tantrums and more against Liverpool.

Former England full-back Neville was severely unimpressed with what he seen from Fernandes, and had his say.

“There were things that I saw in that second half that were a disgrace and I’ll start with Bruno Fernandes because I’ve had enough of him throwing his arms around at his teammates, I’ve had enough of him not running back”, he said.

“He whinges at everybody, and got pushed in the chest and went down holding his face.

“He’s got to put a captain’s performance in out there and that wasn’t a captain’s performance by a Manchester United player.”

There’s not shying away from the fact that United boss Erik ten Hag doesn’t take disciplinary issues lightly. All you have to do is look back to last year at his treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo, who disrespected the club.

This example below sums up Fernandes’ performance at Anfield.

Fernandes’ performance was labelled as one of the worst ever from a Premier League player, by Chris Sutton. The 28-year-old reportedly was begging Ten Hag to come off the pitch towards the end of the game.

Fernandes will likely have a lot to apologise for after the defeat, with many fans unhappy with his conduct.
