Brentford vs Fulham Preview

Brentford are in the midst of a staggering unbeaten run that stretches back to before the World Cup, but three draws in their last four games has left them needing all three points on Monday night, if they are to keep pushing for a European spot.

The Bees have shown their capacity to compete with the very best, having swept aside Liverpool with ease in January, while hard-fought draws against Arsenal and Tottenham have left them primed and ready to make a charge for a position in the top six.

A victory this evening would leave them three points off Newcastle, with the possibility of moving within a point of Liverpool, who now occupy fifth after their 7-0 battering United on Sunday.

As for the visitors, they too can cement their position in the top six with a win here and can temporarily move level with Liverpool in fifth, albeit having played one more game than the Reds.

The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last four after managing to salvage a hard-earned point against Wolves last time out, and will take comfort in the fact they won the reverse of this fixture back in August, courtesy of a last-gasp Aleksandar Mitrovic goal.

Brentford vs Fulham Team News

Thomas Frank is blessed with a full-strength side heading into this evening, and until such time Ivan Toney appears in front of an FA hearing, the club’s top scorer will continue to lead the line despite a lengthy gambling ban seemingly imminent.

Elsewhere, Vitaly Janelt’s injury time equaliser against Crystal Palace may warrant him a starting spot ahead of Josh Dasilva.
Brentford Line-Up: Raya; Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry; Jensen, Norgaard, Damsgaard; Mbeumo, Toney, Wissa.
As for Marco Silva and Fulham, they will be without midfielder disrupter Palhinha, who is ruled out through suspension for the next two fixtures.

January addition Sasa Lukic could make his first Premier League start as a result, while Aleksandar Mitrovic will lead the line the league for the first time since returning from injury, after lasting 70 minutes in the FA Cup against Leeds.

Fulham Line-Up: Leno; Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Reed, Lukic; Solomon, Pereira, Willian; Mitrovic.
