Liverpool top four odds have now shortened to 1/1 after they hammered Manchester United 7-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Story Of The Game

Jurgen Klopp’s men cruised to victory in what was a highly-anticipated affair. The result gives the Reds a huge boost in their quest to finish in the top four.

Defeat for Erik ten Hag’s side see their run of 11 games unbeaten end, and in horrible fashion against their old rivals.

Mohamed Salah became the club’s record Premier League goalscorer in the meantime. The Egyptian scored two and assisted two in a mammoth performance.

In what was a relatively tight game in the first half, the second half was a completely different story.

Cody Gakpo announced himself in this famous fixture by putting Liverpool 1-0 up with a wonderful finish in the 43rd minute. This took the Reds into half-time leading 1-0.

The second half was something special from Klopp’s men, as they scored six goals without reply to top off a super Sunday on Merseyside.

Darwin Nunez added a second early on in the second half, before Gakpo completed his brace with a cheeky chip over David de Gea to make it 3-0.

Then Salah got in on the act with a record levelling strike.

The horror show for Ten Hag’s men didn’t end there, as more goals came flying in. Nunez scored his second header of the game to make it 5-0. And, the Uruguayan is doing a pretty good job of silencing his critics.

Salah added his second of the game shortly after surpassing Robbie Fowler to become Liverpool’s highest Premier League goalscorer with 129 goals. The 30-year-old ripped his shirt off in celebration, later receiving a booking. The atmosphere was electric at Anfield. Roberto Firmino added a seventh late on to round off an incredible day for Klopp and his team.
