The Donald McCain-trained NAYATI beat stablemate COLLINGHAM into second place at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day but was only fifth to his old rival at the same venue last month. However, he has struggled to win back-to-back races for his current yard, recording form figures immediately following a win of 332365 (0-6), as compared to figures of 511713FF3111 (6-12) after a defeat. He’s often ridden patiently, which will be ideal for a race a likely to be run at a strong pace, and he rates a solid buy in the 50-30-20-10 market or each-way bet with Spreadex.

LINGFIELD 2.31
GIORGIO VASARI
Staying well away from the inside of the Polytrack is the key to success at Lingfield this year and stall 6 of 8 should ensure that GIORGIO VASARI steers clear of the ‘dead’ rail. He never got involved from off the pace in the first-time cheekpieces at Chelmsford last time but his usual blinkers are back on this afternoon. HIs latest course outing saw him finish second to Ower Starlight (a winner at Kempton earlier this week) and he should get a good tow into the race from RHUBARB BIKINI. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back him each-way.

NEWBURY 4.35
DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER
At the time of writing NEON MOON was trading as the favourite for this 2m7.5f novices’ limited handicap chase but he seems much happier on sharp tracks. Newbury is a wide/galloping course, as are Chepstow and Exeter where he has also disappointed in the past – his combined record at these three venues reads 67756 (0-5) and he could struggle today. FLASH COLLONGES has tasted defeat at odds of 6-1 or shorter is his last six starts and could also be worth opposing. Richard Bandey does really well with his chasers and had we backed them all we’d have won 21 of our 103 bets and made a huge profit of £149.87 to a £1 level stake at SP. His PASS ME BY , number 6 on the racecard, is the obvious alternative to the aforementioned pair and I also want to keep chase debutant CHARLES RITZ (number 5) on my side. The best way to get with this pair is to buy DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex.
