Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Manchester United bosses to sign Harry Kane this summer in a move that ‘could match Manchester City and Arsenal.’

Harry Kane can make Manchester United title contenders, says Gabriel Agbonlahor

Agbonlahor, 36, scored 74 goals in 322 Premier League games for Villa and believes that if United splash the cash on Harry Kane and pry the 29-year-old away from Spurs, a Premier League title is on the cards for Erik ten Hag.

“I’ve been impressed with Manchester United. There’s no reason as to why they can’t go on to win the FA Cup, they can’t go on to win the Europa League.

“They’re only now eight points behind Arsenal and they’ve got [Wout] Weghorst up front, and I do like his work-rate, and I like how he tries. But he’s not a Manchester United striker.

“I look at City, and yes, they’ve probably got the best squad of players, but Manchester United, if they go and get Harry Kane in the summer, get him through the door, I don’t care what he costs.

“£70million-£80m-£90m, whatever he costs Harry Kane, go and get him.”

Manchester United 4/1 favourites to sign Harry Kane this summer

According to the latest Harry Kane next club odds, Manchester United are the outright favourites to sign the England captain.

  • Manchester United @ 4/1
  • Bayern Munich @ 14/1
  • Newcastle @ 20/1
  • Real Madrid @ 20/1
  • Manchester City @ 33/1
  • Barcelona @ 33/1
  • Chelsea @ 33/1

Agbonlahor believes that alongside the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford that Kane can deliver a 21st Premier League title for Manchester United.

“That starting XI would match Manchester City and Arsenal for me then next season.

“So they’ve got to go all out the Glazers, hopefully they will spend the money and Manchester United next season will be title contenders for me.”

The Red Devils currently sit third in the Premier League table, six points adrift Manchester City in second and eight behind Arsenal at the top.
