Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear that he thinks Harry Kane would be the perfect signing for Man United.

The former Man United manager made many a big signing for the Old Trafford based club during his tenure. Wayne Rooney, Eric Cantona, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand are names that come straight to mind.

Despite not being directly involved in the club running, Sir Alex is still a big figure around the club. This was shown on Sunday after the club won the EFL Cup on Sunday.

Not only did Erik ten Hag have a photo with the Man United legend, he had some lovely words about the great manager.

Will Sir Alex’s Words Lead To Signing Kane?

Ten Hag has made some big signings himself during his short spell at Man United.

The signing of Casemiro was questioned at the time, but it looks like one of the best signings of the season. Lisandro Martínez’s signing was questioned as well, but he’s to some one of the best defenders in the league now.

Despite having Marcus Rashford, who has expressed wishes to play as a striker, in the form of his life, Sir Alex believes they need more. Speaking to Sky Sports, Sir Alex said:

“I don’t think he’s a striker,

“He operates away from the left-hand side and has been fantastic.

“His finishing is always good, always keeps his shots down – which is really important for a striker – and is in a great vein of form. Unfortunately for us, he’s the main source of goals – we could do with an extra one, but he’s doing it.”

Kane is someone Sir Alex has said he’d loved to have coached during his time as a manager. The England striker is one of the view world-class strikers around at the moment. Sir Alex believes if they were to sign Kane they’d have the complete team ready to compete with the likes of Man City.

Signing Kane may be easier said than done. Man City tried in the past but were priced out by Spurs. Kane’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, meaning if Spurs want to cash in on him, they’ll need to act this summer.
