Late on in the game a great ball found Carlos Vinícius in the box. The Brazilian leaped above the defenders but couldn’t beat Sa who saved the goal bound header.
Who Will Finish Top Six?
The race for the top six will be a close battle as the season comes to an end. Fulham’s result tonight keeps them in 6th place, but they’ve played more games than those chasing them. Fulham have played 25 games now, and the surrounding teams have either played 22 or 23. This explains why they’re 10/1 despite their league position and form. Not even the most optimistic of fans would have expected them to be battling for Europe in the first season back in the Premier League. They’ll need to keep their good form up to keep their challenge alive.
Despite being below Fulham and not being at their best this season, Liverpool are still 1/8. Bookies are clearly expecting their star-studded team to come good and at least get top six this season.
Brighton are a decent 6/4 to finish in the top six this season. Many thought losing Graham Potter would be bad for Brighton. But under Roberto De Zerb they’re coping just fine and look set to challenge for a place in Europe. They’ve only played 22 games, so have a few games in hand over Fulham and have one game in hand over other teams.
Potter’s new team Chelsea spent big bucks in January but face an uphill battle to finish in the top six this season. They’re still a good value at 3/1 with the quality they’ve got, but they need to pick up their form as soon as possible.
