Arsenal have moved to 7/4 favourites to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice, after the Gunners reportedly began contract negotiations with the 24-year-old.
Rice has been one West Ham’s brightest sparks since his Premier League debut in 2017 and has been linked with a move over the last two transfer windows. After proving himself on the grand stage with England, the midfielder has caught the attention of Europe’s elite.
The West Ham academy graduate has played 190 times in the league, scoring seven goals and contributing to 10 assists. Something Arsenal have noticed, as they have reportedly agreed ‘personal terms’ with Rice, who could join the Gunners over the summer.

West Ham are currently having their worst season since their return to the Premier League, sitting in 18th and are in a serious relegation battle. On the flip side, Arsenal are having their best season in years and are on the way to their first Premier League title in almost 20 years.
The Gunners signed Jorginho for £12m after Thomas Partey’s recent injury, due to their original £60m move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo falling through. This shows how keen Mikel Arteta is to strengthen in this position and the England stalwart may be the perfect candidate.
