Pep Guardiola is preparing to face RB Leipzig without star man Kevin De Bruyne as Man City continue their journey to a maiden Champions League triumph.

Wednesday night marks just the third meeting between RB Leipzig and Man City in history, battling it out in last season’s Group A.

According to Champions League betting sites, the hosts enter as underdogs at a price of 10/3 compared to Man City at an odds-on 17/20.

The pair scored a combined 12 goals in the previous fixtures and football fans across the globe will be hoping for more of the same in Leipzig tonight.

RB Leipzig vs Man City Team News & Injury Update

Leipzig will be without Peter Gulacsi (ACL), Dani Olmo (thigh) and Abou Diallo (knee) for the clash who are all recovering from injuries.

The German outfit’s joint-top scorer in the Champions League, Christopher Nkunku, came off the bench and grabbed an assist against Wolfsburg at the weekend as he makes his return from injury.

Manager Marco Rose faces a dilemma on whether to partner Portuguese frontman with Nkunku or Timo Werner – he could even play Emil Forsberg in an advanced role.

Earlier in the week, it appeared that Pep Guardiola had a fully fit squad bar John Stones (hamstring) at his disposal. However, the Spaniard will be without a key man in midfield.

Kevin De Bruyne has not travelled with the squad and will miss out due to illness alongside French defender Aymeric Laporte, opening the door for Manuel Akanji to start at the back.
