Real Madrid’s Champions League odds have been slashed to 7/1 after they inflicted a 5-2 thrashing on Liverpool in tonight’s European clash.

Liverpool got off to an electric start as Darwin Nunez made it two goals in his last two matches with a cute finish. Their lead was doubled moments later as Mo Salah tapped the ball into the net following a huge Thibaut Courtois blunder.

Madrid got back into the game through a superb individual effort from Vinicius Jr. who smashed the ball into the bottom right corner. Alisson then joined Courtois in goalkeeping blunders, as his pass deflected off the Real Madrid winger and into the back of the net.

A bullet header from Eder Militao and a second-half brace for Karim Benzema secured the victory for Los Blancos. The reverse fixture is set to take place on March 15th and the current champions will be looking to prevent another famous Liverpool comeback.

Can Madrid Madrid retain their Champions League crown?

The Spanish giants won the 2021-22 Champions League having beat Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG on one of the most historic Champions League runs since the competition began back in 1955.

However, they have not taken this huge triumph into their La Liga campaign as they sit in second place and are eight points fierce rivals Barcelona, meaning success in the Champions League is pivotal for Madrid this season.

Champions League winner odds:

Man City @ 16/8

Bayern Munich @ 7/2

Real Madrid @ 7/1

Napoli @ 8/1
