SHELIKESTHELIGHTS (system – damsire Midnight Legend, jumps, February – April)
SHELIKESTHELIGHT was a good-ground Fontwell winner on her racecourse debut last spring and followed that with a runner-up effort at Ludlow on her return from a 180-day break. She clearly goes well when fresh, and looks interesting now making her debut for in-form Fergal O’Brien after an 11-week layoff. Jumpers with Midnight Legend as their damsire having a good record at this time of year, landing 39 of their 218 starts (17.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £55.03 to a £1 level stake at SP.
TAUNTON 4.30
LITTLE ELSE (system – sire Midnight Legend, handicap hurdles, 3m+, good or faster going)
Progeny of the sire Midnight Legend tend to peak in the spring/early summer and had we backed all the handicap hurdlers who were running over three miles or further on a sound surface we’d have made a profit of £44.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. LITTLE ELSE has hardly set the world alight in her shorter career but has mostly raced on soft going and might find some improvement on today’s decent ground.
SOUTHWELL 5.30
MISS SARAJEVO (system – sire Rajasinghe, headgear)
Progeny of the sire Rajasinghe have done well when fitted with headgear, landing five of their 13 starts for a profit of £13.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Two of those wind came in first-time cheekpieces and MISS SARAJEVO, who was trapped wide when only fourth at Kempton on her latest outing, might do better now fitted with headgear for the first time.
