Barcelona and Manchester United have both confirmed their line-ups for this evening’s UEFA Europa League playoff first-leg tie, with Casemiro returning to the United line-up after missing the last two league matches through suspension.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United travel to Barcelona for the first-leg of their UEFA Europa League playoff tie this evening. The Blaugrana are in fine form, as they are without a loss in almost four months. Their last defeat came against Bayern Munich in their final UEFA Champions League group match. Barca are currently top of the La Liga, and are eight points clear of bitter rivals Real Madrid, who are in second.

United are also in top form, having only lost one match since returning from the World Cup in Qatar. Ten Hag’s side are currently third in the Premier League table, just five points behind Manchester City and Arsenal. The Red Devils have quite an extensive injury list for the tie, with Scott McTominay, Antony, Anthony Martial, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek all missing out through injury, as Marcel Sabitzer and Lisandro Martinez are unavailable due to suspension.

Barcelona have been victorious in four of their last five meetings, with United’s last win coming in April 2008 in their winning Champions League campaign.

Barca make two changes from Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Villarreal. Alejandro Balde and Andreas Christensen drop to the bench, and are replaced in the line-up by Marcos Alonso and Jordi Alba.

Robert Lewandowski leads the line for Xavi’s side, as he looks to add to his 19 goals scored this season.

Ten Hag makes three changes from the side that defeated Leeds United at the weekend. Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire and Marcel Sabitzer are all replaced in the line-up by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane and Casemiro.

Marcus Rashford will be hoping to continue his rich vein of form in Catalunya this evening. The 25-year-old has three goals and two assists in his last four matches in all competitions.
