Andrew found a winner (100-30) and two seconds from his three bets on Friday and has four more on Saturday, February 11th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
NEWBURY 1.50
REGARDING RUTH (system – Lucy Wadham, February)
In the past 20 years, Lucy Wadham has a 52 from 328 record (15.9% strike-rate) with her runners in February for a profit of £33.05 to a £1 level stake at SP. In handicaps only that improves to 31 from 192 (16.2%) for a profit of £42.48. REGARDING RUTH hasn’t been seen on a racecourse for 645 days but was an impressive winner of this race in 2021 and stayed on strongly to score by six lengths at Market Rasen on her most recent outing.
WARWICK 4.23
IMPERIAL ALEX (system – Tom Lacey, handicap hurdle debut)
Tom Lacey has won with 20 of his 92 handicap hurdle debutants and backing them blind would have returned a profit of ÂŁ64.00. IMPERIAL ALEX was a big eyecatcher when an 80-1 eighth of 16 in a novice hurdle at Hereford on his penultimate start and looks sure to improve.
WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30
WYVERN (system – poorly drawn at Southwell last time out)
This winter (since November 1st, 2022) it has been very difficult to win a handicap over 6f-1m at Southwell from a double-figure draw, with only one such winner from 98 runners. When those poorly drawn horses ran at different track next time out they produced a profit of ÂŁ28.25 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP and WYVERN, a respectable 18-1 fifth of 13 from stall 13 in a 6f Southwell handicap last time (behind runners drawn 7, 4, 3 and 9) can return to winning ways at the scene of his latest win.
WOLVERHAMPTON 8.00
JOHNNY BOOM (system – New Bay, top three finish last time out)
Simply backing all progeny of the sire New Bay who finished in the top three on their latest outing would have found 98 winners from 320 (30.6%) for a very healthy profit of ÂŁ121.98 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP. JOHNNY BOOM, runner-up over 9.4f here last time, looks set to appreciate the step up to 1m4f and both his all-weather wins have come at this venue.
