Leeds United fans have offered their opinion on who should be appointed manager, as the club continues its search for Jesse Marsch’s replacement.

Jesse Marsch’s tenure as Leeds United boss came to an end on Monday, following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Plenty of rumours have been floating around about who could replace the American at the helm. The Whites have now reportedly narrowed down their search to three candidates.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan was the early favourite, but the Baggies were quick to shut down the rumour. On Tuesday evening the club confirmed a new contract for the Spaniard, keeping him there until 2027.

Marcelo Bielsa To Return?

Former Leeds head-coach Marcelo Bielsa was another name mentioned as a potential candidate to take up the position at Elland Road.

Bielsa guided the Whites back to the promised land in 2019/20, finishing top of the Championship. This secured Leeds’ return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Speaking to Sky Sports, one fan put Bielsa at the top of his list of candidates for the job.

“I’d like to see Bielsa back,” said the supporter.

“But I can’t see it happening.”

The fan looks to be correct in his assessment of the situation, according to reports.

Bielsa returning to the Whites is said to be ‘unlikely’. While the club have huge respect for what he achieved there, Leeds are said to be pursuing a different avenue.

The Leading Candidate

Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola has now reportedly been identified as the favourite to take over the vacant role at the Premier League’s 17th place side.

Iraola has led Vallecano to their best La Liga start in 45 years, as they sit 5th in the league table.

Even with the possibility of European football on the horizon for his current club, could Iraola make the move to Yorkshire?

Premier League betting sites currently have the Spaniard priced at around 5/4 to take over at Elland Road, making him the bookies favourite.
