FIDELIO VALLIS used to come good in the second half of the season when trained by Paul Nicholls and it could be worth chancing him on his debut for Harry Derham, despite the absence of more than 400 days. His record from February to May stands at 111111 (6-6).

PORTER IN THE PARK (system – hurdle winners, Britain, very recent run, handicap hurdles below Class 1 level)
Since 2012, had we bet every last-time out hurdles winner who was returned to the track within seven days to contest a handicap hurdle in Britain (below Class 1 level), we’d have won 344 of our 853 bets (40.3%) and made a profit of £55.31. That improves to £87.35 in the peak jumps season (October to April). Emma Lavell’s PORTER IN THE PARK scored with more in hand than the half-length margin suggested at Huntingdon last week and can follow up.
