Progeny of the sire Malinas have a good record over jumps when given a trip of at least 2m4f on good to soft or slower going. They’re 80 from 461 under these conditions (17.4%) for a profit of £37.74 to a £1 level stake at SP. AMERICAN SNIPER was narrowly beaten into second over 2m3f at Taunton and may be able to bounce back to form now stepping up in trip.

TOSEN WISH (system – sire New Bay, top-three-finish last time)
Simply backing any progeny of the sire New Bay who recorded a top-three finish on their latest start has been a lucrative angle and would have found 97 winners from 318 runners (30.5% strike rate) for a profit of £120.70 to a £1 level stake at SP. TOSEN WISH has been absent since landing a Navan maiden for former trainer Takashi Kodama and could be worth chancing on his first start for Joseph O’Brien.

MEASURED TIME (system – Charlie Appleby, first-time hood, debut)
Charlie Appleby has a good record with horses wearing a hood on their racecourse debuts, scoring with 13 of the 43 qualifiers (30.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £14.09 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected number of winners = 9.69). Frankel colt MEASURED TIME has the headgear applied and could score at the first time of asking.
