FFOS LAS 1.00
MASKED MATGIL (system – Tom Lacey, hurdles, beaten favourite last time out)
Tom Lacey has a cracking record with horses who were beaten when starting as favourite on their latest outing, scoring with 24 of the 99 qualifiers for a profit of £37.10 to a £1 level stake at SP. MASKED MATGIL, rested since August’s good-ground Bangor flop, might fare better on today’s softer going and is worth another chance.
FFOS LAS 1.30
DUNBAR (system – Sean Bowen, Ffos Las chases)
Jockey Sean Bowen has a 38 from 126 record (30.2% strike-rate) when riding over fences at Ffos Las for a profit of £61.74 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected wins = 23.64). DUNBAR, the first of his three such rides today (the others are Pilgrims King in the 2.00 and Best Triton in the 3.30) is hardly prolific but his sole success came over course and distance and his full chase record at this venue reads 3313533 (1-7), suggesting each-way claims at odds of around 10-1.
CHELMSFORD 6.30
MAYBE TONIGHT (system – Tony Carroll, Chelmsford handicaps, stall 1)
Tony Carroll has a fine record with his stall 1 runners in handicaps at Chelmsford, scoring with eight of the 29 qualifiers for a profit of £40.80 to a £1 level stake at SP. Nine of the 21 beaten horses made the frame and MAYBE TONIGHT, the mount of Hollie Doyle, has the plum draw in this 6f handicap. He’s yet to race beyond but shapes as though the extra furlong is needed.
