He improved considerably for that initial experience and ran out a clear-cut winner of a juvenile hurdle at Fontwell on his next start, travelling well on the heels of the leaders before taking up the running two out and pulling clear to score by ten lengths. James Fanshawe’s mare VIOLA has run a little below par on her latest starts over 1m5f and 1m6f but could bounce back to form now dropping back in trip. She excels when racing over 1m4f, recording form figures of 2111223 (3-7) and should appreciate the return to handicapping after failing to trouble the judge in Listed company. The five-year-old often runs well after a break, recording form figures of 51222 (1-5) when off the track for at least 50 days and should be all the better for an eight-week rest. Although yet to race at Dunstall Park, she proved her liking for the Tapeta surface when scoring on her sole visit to Southwell in December last year.
