The race for the Golden Boot is always one of the most talked about topics in any World Cup, and the markets haven’t changed too much over the past week or so with Mbappe still leading the way.
Ahead of the tournament, England’s Harry Kane was joint favourite with Kylian Mbappe, with the pair at 10/1 with BetUk. However, as we are now down to the final four teams in the competition, the PSG forward is the clear market favourite to win the golden boot, especially if France go all the way to the final.

Kylian Mbappe is the favourite still, with France scoring plenty going into the semi-finals. The PSG forward already has five goals in the tournament, ahead of a meeting with Morocco on Wednesday, with a potential final just four days later.
The second in the market behind the Frenchman is Lionel Messi of Argentina. Messi is currently on four goals in the tournament and he and his country lock horns with Croatia on Tuesday in the first of the two semi-final matches. Messi could certainly grab a goal or two against the Croatians. Argentina will fancy their chances for the title, and if they get past Croatia they could find themselves in a final against France, where the possibility of the golden boot being decided in the final game is a real possibility.
Then with an outside shot at 7/1 is AC Milan and France’s Olivier Giroud, who also sits on four goals like Messi going into the last four of the competition. Incredibly, Giroud became France’s all-time top scorer with his winner against England on Saturday night.
