Wolves will issue a hands-off warning as interest grows in Pedro Neto and Max Kilman this month.

Neto, 23, is being eyed by Arsenal and Kilman, 26, is hitting the radar at West Ham United, who are very keen to bring in a new centre-back this month.

Wolves have been dealing with financial difficulties in recent times and have been open to listening to offers for fringe players – but Kilman and Neto are not in that bracket.

Wolves trimmed their squad last summer with Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Raul Jimenez and Conor Coady all leaving and there had been hope they would be able to focus on improving the squad this winter.

Boss Gary O’Neil has been looking to strengthen his attack, and Fabio Silva already joined Rangers on loan in order to open up space for that to happen.

Offers for Neto or Kilman would be unwelcome and time will tell whether Wolves do face a genuine fight to cling onto them.

Arsenal have shown interest in Neto before. Wolves would be determined to keep him as one of the most important first-team players, thanks to his creative range of crossing and passing combined with fantastic vision – but Arsenal are reigniting that interest at a time when their attack looks like it needs a boost.

It has been expected that a striker like Ivan Toney could come in but with Brentford trying to price him out of the market, it might yet be that a different style of attacker is considered.

Wolves would look to mirror that Brentford stance by sticking a high-valuation on Neto if there was any genuine approach from Arsenal – and Kilman is also a key player that they do not want to lose either, as he is hitting new levels as the team captain.

The Hammers are offloading Thilo Kehrer to Monaco to open up space in their squad and also have uncertainty around Nayef Aguerd – so have placed Kilman high on their shortlist of targets.
