Ex-Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian is set to return to Fulham ahead of the new Premier League season despite being linked with moves to Nottingham Forest and the Saudi Pro League.

Willian is set to return to London for another Premier League season with Fulham despite his contract at Craven Cottage coming to an end last month.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal winger was largely expected to depart after a reported contract dispute, however Fabrizio Romano now reports that he will return to the club pending a medical.

Interest from Nottingham Forest and the Saudi Pro League handed the Brazilian options if he was to depart, but another season under Marco Silva looks to be his final decision.

Romano revealed the latest on Willian on his social channels on Monday morning.

“Willian decides to return to Fulham, agreement reached!” he tweeted.

“Deal expected to be signed later today after medical tests — if all goes to plan.

“Despite bids from Nottingham Forest and Saudi, Willian is now expected to sign new deal at Fulham.”

It is believed that Willian had been offered terms with Forest which included the opportunity to end his career with their partner club Olympiacos.

Despite this being an attractive option for the Brazilian, his opinion has clearly been swayed by Fulham’s improved contract offer.

Willian impressed on his Premier League return under Silva last term, scoring five times and assisting six times, so fans of the London club will be delighted to hear that he is extending his stay.

Forest may now switch their full attentions to securing the signature of out-of-favour Chelsea man Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been linked with a move to the City Ground, as well as to Fulham and Saudi Arabia.
