Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis stopped Ryan Garcia with a brutal body shot in the seventh round to win a captivating super-fight in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Tank improved his record to 29-0 with the victory, with all but two wins coming by knockdown. The loss marked Garcia’s first of his career after winning 19 of 23 by KO.
Davis’ merciless body shots proved key in the end, with Garcia hitting the canvas for the first time in the second round and was never able to fully recover.
Davis, 28 and Garcia, 24, have been applauded by many for taking such a monumental fight at this point in their respective careers, and the pair delivered in style on the big stage.
Will There Be A Gervonta Davis Vs Ryan Garcia Rematch?
Garcia was quick to jump on social media after the defeat to offer his thoughts on the fight and propose a rematch against Davis somewhere down the line.
“Obviously, I’m disappointed after the fight. I tried my best, he caught me with a good body shot.
“I’ll come back stronger and hopefully one day after I rack up a couple of wins, we can do a rematch at maybe 140 or 147lbs.”

We are yet to hear from Tank on the possibility of a rematch, however considering the significance and attention of Saturday night’s event it would seem silly not to accept Garcia’s offer.
Truthfully, Davis has bigger fish to fry at the minute – in the form of undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney, who said Tank was a ‘safe bet’ in the Vegas showdown.
There will likely be a rematch in the future between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, but likely not for a few years at least.
