In what was anticipated as a swift return to Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho, the England international’s loan move from Manchester United has been delayed.
Despite initial plans for Sancho’s swift return to the Bundesliga side, a private jet to Marbella was unexpectedly cancelled. Sources reveal that the cancellation was due to Manchester United’s continued discussions regarding the terms of the loan.
Sancho has been notably absent from the first-team setup at Old Trafford under the management of Erik ten Hag, with his last appearance in the Premier League dating back to August.
The 23-year-old was compelled to train separately from the senior squad at the Carrington training base following an outburst on social media.
A January transfer move was widely expected, providing an opportunity for Sancho to rejoin Borussia Dortmund. Initial reports hinted at a short-term deal valued at approximately £2.6 million, with plans for the move to materialise during a winter training camp for BVB.
However, recent developments reveal that Sancho encountered a setback when his flight to Spain was cancelled on Friday. According to Sky Deutschland, several unresolved issues are preventing the move from being completed.
However, a return to Germany for Sancho is still on the cards, with talks still ongoing. Fabrizio Romano has provided an update highlighting that Dortmund are still confident of securing the deal.

At the moment, the loan transfer will not include a purchase option, suggesting that this move is solely a temporary return for Sancho who left Dortmund for Manchester for £75 million ($95 million) in the summer of 2021.
