Who Is Favourite To Win Eurovision 2023?
Sweden, who are the clear favourites in the betting @ 8/13 are the country that all the best UK bookmakers are running scared of ahead of the 2023 Eurovision.
With six Eurovision wins under their belts they are sitting second in the all-time winners table. Only Ireland (7 wins) having more titles, so a victory for Sweden in 2023 (providing Ireland don’t win) will see them go joint-top.
Sweden’s most recent success in the competition was in 2015, but it was ABBA that got landed their first Eurovision triumph in 1974 with a song you might know – called ‘Waterloo’!

Scandinavian Countries Dominating the Eurovision Betting
The Eurovision bookmakers are also thinking that if Ukraine can’t win it again, then a Scandinavian country will. Sweden are the clear 2023 Eurovision Song contest favourites and Finland are next best in the betting, while Norway are also being priced up in the top 10 countries to win Saturday’s singing event.
Norway (1985, 1995 & 2009) has three past wins, while Finland (2006) have just the one success.
Liverpool Will Host The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest
Normally the current Eurovision winners would also play hosts to the event the following year, but for obvious reasons this is not possible.
So, it’s the home of the Beatles – Liverpool – that have stepped in to stage the 2023 Eurovision.
This will also be the first time Eurovision has been in Liverpool. The UK has hosted eight times, but these have been in London (4), Brighton (1), Harrogate (1), Edinburgh (1) and Birmingham (1).
We also now know the Liverpool spectacular will be presented by Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, plus Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina. While the with Eurovision stalwart host Graham Norton hook up with them on May 13th for the grand final.
Ukraine will be looking to become the sixth ‘back-to-back’ Eurovision winners, with Ireland (twice), Spain, Luxembourg and Israel all doing the singing double.
DID YOU KNOW? Ukraine have won the Eurovision Song Contest Three Times
Eurovision Holders Ukraine Third Favourites
Last year most of Europe got behind Ukraine, which saw the war-torn country win the Eurovision. They were sent off as the favourites to win the popular singing competition 12 months ago and really their victory was never in doubt.
But, with the political and war situation no better can Ukraine win Eurovision again?
The short answer is – the best UK bookmakers think can go well again with Ukraine @ 8/1 with bet365 and the current third favourites to successfully defend their crown. But in the last few months they have drifted out from 5/2 to 8/1.
United Kingdom Can Be Backed at 40/1 To Win The Eurovision Song Contest
Last year’s Eurovision silver medallists – United Kingdom – have some fair Eurovision history to their name – winning the title five times.
Okay, the last of these wins was back 26 years ago in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves’ “Love Shine a Light”. However, maybe the tide is turning in their favour again after their runners-up finish 12 months ago with Sam Ryder’s “Space Man”.
The UK can be backed @ 40/1 to win the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
